Finding us

Leave the M6 at junction 44, signposted Workington/Carlisle (A7). Turn on to the A689 eastbound – the second exit, signposted Hexham/Newcastle – at the motorway roundabout and continue on this road, past Carlisle Airport and past the Golden Fleece pub at Ruleholme.
After approximately 9 miles the road bends to the right and a left hand junction is signposted Brampton (there are bollards on the side road at this junction). Turn left and remain on this road which will take you into the centre of the town. You will pass Townfoot Industrial Estate, houses, the police station (on your left) and, set back from Main St. (A6071), St. Martin’s Church. Shortly after this junction you will find The Sycamore Gap Guest House/The White House on your left and set back from and above the road.
Leave the M6 at junction 43, signposted Carlisle/Hexham/Newcastle. At the motorway roundabout take the third exit (A69) eastbound in the direction of Hexham and Newcastle. Continue on the A69 through Warwick Bridge and Corby Hill (speed cameras; traffic lights) for approximately 9 miles until you reach a roundabout.
Take the second exit (straight ahead) towards Brampton. Continue straight on past houses and Capon Tree Vets to a T junction. Turn right here onto Carlisle Rd, which becomes Main St. (A6071). The Sycamore Gap Guest House/The White House will be on the left, set back from and above the road, shortly after the next junction (police station on left, St. Martin’s Church set back on right).
Take the A69 westbound towards Corbridge, Hexham and Carlisle. After the petrol station at Low Row (on top of a hill; chevrons to warn of sharp descending corner) continue for approximately 3 miles. You will pass a crossroads with Milton Rigg Woods on the left and a sign pointing to Naworth Castle on your right. Shortly after this take the A6071 (at Naworth Fisheries and New Mills Trout Fishing Farm) to the right, into Brampton. Don’t worry if you miss this turning – the next one will take you down Station Road and into Brampton as well. You will come down a hill towards The Sands, a large village-green type area dissected by the road. Continue along here past all the shops, hairdressers etc. and The Sycamore Gap/The White House will be on your right, set back from and higher than the road.
