Brampton is a walker’s, trail runner’s and cyclist’s paradise, with a wealth of routes fanning out in all directions and views of stunning countryside wherever you go.
Hadrian’s Wall is about 2 miles from Brampton and the visually striking Sycamore Gap, as memorably featured in the film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, is within a day’s walk, but the area is bursting with other historic sites as well.
Cumbria is a food-lover’s dream, not surprisingly with its largely rural geography (it is the second least densely populated county in England) and Brampton’s monthly Farmers’ Market is well worth a visit.
